Reporting from the Outlook add-in

Trustifi’s Outlook add-in can be used to report an email as safe or as malicious/spam with just a couple of clicks.
To report an email, you will first need to open an email in your inbox and open the Trustifi add-in which will start the Inbound Shield scan of the email.
Once the scan process is complete, the relevant reporting function will be available – safe emails can be reported as malicious/suspicious/spam, and emails that have a non-safe status can be reported as safe.

Reporting an email as unsafe

An email that receives a status of “Safe” in the Inbound Shield scan can be reported as malicious, suspicious, or spam – if you believe the Inbound Shield diagnosis was incorrect. To do this, simply follow the steps below.

Reporting an email as malicious from the Outlook add-in
    1. Click on “Report this email
    2. Select the details of the email to report:
Note: you may select more than one option.
        • This is SPAM” – Selecting this will help teach Trustifi’s spam AI to better detect this type of email in the future.
        • I don’t trust this sender” – Selecting this will add the sender to the blacklist.
        • Links lead to malicious sites” – Selecting this will add the links in the email to the blacklist.
        • Files are malicious” – Selecting this will add the files in the email to the blacklist.
        • The email looks suspicious to me” – Select this if there is some other reason you believe the email is not safe. You can specify the reason in the input field below.
    3. If you are an admin, you may choose if the selected sender/links/files should be added to the global blacklist (which will affect everyone in your plan), or to your own personal blacklist. Regular users will not have this option.
    4. Click on “Send report” to finish the reporting process. This will add the selected sender/links/files to the blacklist and also create a review ticket for Trustifi’s security team.
Reporting an email as safe

Emails that have received any status other than “Safe” in the Inbound Shield scan can be reported as safe if you believe the Inbound Shield diagnosis was incorrect. To do this, simply follow the steps below.

Reporting an email as safe from the Outlook add-in
    1. Click on “I trust this email
    2. If you are an admin, you may choose if the sender/links/files should be added to the global whitelist (which will affect everyone in your plan), or to your own personal whitelist. Regular users will not have this option.
    3. Click on “Confirm and trust email” to finish the reporting process. This will add the sender, links, and files in the email to the whitelist and also create a review ticket for Trustifi’s security team.
