Named "BEST WINERY IN North American" by the Discoverer Blog, PEJU Winery began with Tony Peju daring to sell wines in an informal facility: the garage at their vineyard estate in Rutherford, Napa Valley. A lengthy legal battle ensued, and Peju persisted: this became the catalyst for Napa County to create the legal definition of a winery, which was adopted in 1991. The Challenge
Like many wineries in Napa Valley, sales and overall revenue continue to suffer because of a challenging local and global economy. Even with these economic challenges, the winery recognizes the need to sustain the highest levels of cybersecurity protection for its critical assets, including email.
In 2021, after an extensive search for a better email security solution to replace native Microsoft 365 security, Chad Culbreth, IT manager for the winery, evaluated some email vendors, including Proofpoint and Mimecast, at the RSA conference. Challenged with increased spam passing through Microsoft’s email security, Chad deployed Mimecast to reduce the impact on his users while simplifying the management overhead.
